Come join us at the North Lawndale College Prep School Garden locally known as the Spaulding Memorial Garden for a community volunteer day! Learn about the renovations sponsored by MUFG and in partnership with HAVI, over this summer and fall. These renovations will ensure that their garden space is a safe, beautiful, and informational space not only for the students of the After School Matters program but for the broader North Lawndale community as a whole. In addition to cleaning up the space, we will be adding new community beds, rebuillding the fire pit area, and adding more interactive workshops and activities for the whole family!

Garden maintenance activities for any given Thursday can include weeding, watering, trellising, pruning, fertilising, pest management, and harvesting.

This community volunteer event is open to the whole family, all ages are welcome. Youths under 18 must have their waiver signed by a legal gaurdian while youths under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Come join us at the Eliza Chappell Gardens for the 3rd community volunteer day for Chappell Elementary! See what students have been planting and help us prepare the garden for the fall season. Activities may include watering, weeding, transplanting, trellising, pruning, harvesting, bed construction, and sign painting. Feel free to share the signup link with friends or family who may be interested in participating!

Come help us complete the indoor community garden that is being created at the Douglass Branch Library. This garden is an extention of the Gardeneers program at North Lawndale College Prep School located a few blocks south of the library and it will be open to all library members to use as space for learning, growth, and relaxation.

Come help us finish establishing the new garden beds located at the Douglass Branch Library. As part of an extension of our North Lawndale College Prep After School Matters program. The Douglass Branch Library will host a variety of garden and nature based activities in the space.

The first of many volunteer groups to come to Homan Rails Farm to support the hoop house renovations. Designed by a class of architecture students from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and funded by the American Medical Association, these renovated hoop houses will go a long way in assuring that Gardeneers' programming at that site is a success!

Vanderpoel is a small but mighty garden and we would like some assistance in keeping it thriving. Our maintenance day may include all or some of the following: watering the crops, weeding around the crops, trellising and or harvesting food for our community. Please bring your own gardening gloves and we’ll supply the rest.

A group of volunteers will help with tasks at Homan Rails Farm. These will include weeding, composting, mulching, trash pickup, and various other farm chores.
